Stamford Nursery & Preschool provides a warm, nurturing and inspiring environment for children aged 1 to 4 years.
Located within the grounds of Stamford Junior School, our Ofsted-registered Nursery and Preschool offers dedicated spaces for each stage of early childhood, including our new room for children aged 1–2.
Our dedicated 1–2-year-old room provides a safe, nurturing environment where our youngest children can play, explore and develop with support from our experienced Early Years team.
Our 1–2-year-old provision is currently full until September 2027. Registrations are now open for places from September 2027 onwards.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we embrace multiple forms of self-expression, including Art, Music and Movement. Children’s work is celebrated through documentation and displays, making learning visible and valued.
All meals and snacks are freshly prepared on-site in our own kitchen-diner. Children enjoy balanced, seasonal menus with plenty of variety, from homemade muffins to fresh fruit and vegetables.
Stamford Preschool's uniform includes a red polo t-shirt, a Stamford branded jumper and navy trousers, skirt or shorts.
The introduction of the uniform helps to foster a sense of belonging and prepares our children for the transition to Junior School.
