Hockey is a cornerstone of Stamford School sports, offering a dynamic and inclusive programme that fosters skill development, teamwork, and competitive excellence. With dedicated terms for boys and girls, our programme ensures broad participation, with over 550 students and 500 fixtures in the 2023-24 season. From local matches to international tours, Stamford provides every opportunity for players to thrive on and off the field.

Stamford’s Hockey programme supports all abilities, from aspiring internationals to those playing for lifelong enjoyment. Training focuses on decision-making, adaptability, and versatile skills.

Recent successes include:

  • Boys U18 Indoor Team: National Finalists (2020)
  • Old Stamfordian Eddie Harper: England U18 (2020), England EDP (U21)
  • Leonie Hart: England U16 Training Squad (2022)
  • Eva Stones: Hockey Scholarship to Sacred Heart Foundation, USA (2024)
  • Regular participation in regional and national tournaments

Stamford offers outstanding Hockey facilities, including three top-tier astroturfs and indoor spaces for year-round training.

We support player progression through the Talent Academy Pathway and work closely with City of Peterborough, Beeston, and Cambridge City Hockey Clubs.

International opportunities include a bi-annual Netherlands Tour (U16 & U18), an annual Scotland Tour (U11 & U13), and hosting the IAPS U13 National Finals.
