Book for our Discovery Mornings

Discovery Mornings are a chance to explore the Schools on a normal working day.

You and your family will tour the School in the company of one of our pupils and will meet the Principal and senior team over tea and coffee.

Junior School (Reception – Year 6):
Wednesday 15 May 8.45am – 10am

Senior School (Year 7 – Year 11):
Wednesday 15 May 10am – 11.30am

Spaces at a Discovery Morning are limited so that you can have as much time as you need to see the School at your own pace and discuss your child as an individual.

Sport is an integral aspect of Stamford life

SPORTING ETHOS

Our sporting ethos is, simply, 'turn up and join in'!

Your child's continued participation in sport will encourage social interaction, routine, discipline and behaviour as well as resilience and competition.

Through sport we aim to give your child a healthy attitude to physical activity throughout his or her school career and, more importantly, for life.

Enviable Sporting Facilities

The Junior School has around 15 acres of sports space, including 2 cricket squares, 6 netball/tennis courts, hockey Astroturf, athletics field, gymnasium and swimming pool.

Pupils also have access to facilities at the Senior School, including additional sports pitches and 25m swimming pool.

Through unrivalled facilities and excellent teaching and coaching, we offer your child numerous opportunities to compete and participate in an array of activities.

Games

Mass Participation Sports in Teams

Games includes our mass participation sports in teams by terms where boys play rugby, hockey and cricket and girls play hockey, netball and cricket. Children will play competitive fixtures from Year 3 against local schools and clubs.

We enter regional and national competitions with the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) as well as other governing body competitions with the RFU, ECB and England Netball. We also host our own age group festivals with over 2,500 students from 20+ primary and prep schools visiting Stamford for festivals in hockey, netball, rugby and cricket.

P.E.

Functional and Fundamental Movement

Our P.E. time is focused on functional and fundamental movement with fun being the key in both. This includes gymnastics, dance, balance and co-ordination activities for physical literacy through sport which complements fitness, flexibility, speed and agility and endurance. The breadth of our offering further supports the opportunity for students to find their passion for different sports at all levels.

Be the best you can be

Performance is key for growth mindset as we learn through experience, reflection and problem solving.

Our breadth of offering means there is something for everyone no matter what they enjoy. Our sports provision is split into games, P.E. and co-curricular activities.

Our Vision is Simple

Have fun, enjoy the moments that individual and group sports provide, learn through play and learn through activity.
