At Stamford, our purpose is to give young people the opportunity to thrive. Our aim is to help them be the best version of themselves, to become rounded and grounded individuals ready for the next chapter of their lives.
Welcome to Stamford, where we have been educating students since 1532. Stamford strives to offer an outstanding, contemporary education in which students develop the ability to think for themselves and to interpret the world around them. Our Schools have a long and prestigious heritage, but everything we do here at Stamford is focused on preparing young people to lead happy and fulfilling lives in the 21st Century.
Set in the Georgian town of Stamford in Lincolnshire, voted by the Sunday Times as ‘The Best Place to Live in Britain’, the area is a wonderful place to live and grow up in. Our boarding community is relatively small, with seven boarding properties, which ensures pupils and boarding staff feel part of a close-knit community, and no child is ever overlooked.
Our approach to academic learning is built around the framework that at Stamford we provide young people with the opportunities to thrive. Every student at Stamford is encouraged to be an independent learner and to take the lead in their own education. We ensure our pupils can access the curriculum, and we ensure they have the very best learning environment to do this. This approach to learning equips them to face the challenges and opportunities of their future.
Pastoral care at Stamford sits at the heart of everything we do for your child. The health and wellbeing of all of our students is paramount to our daily lives at our school; we know that happy and healthy students are more likely to thrive and achieve their full potential. Our aim for your child whilst they are at Stamford is to unlock their potential to be the best version of themselves; and for that to happen they need an excellent pastoral provision.
Stamford is a beautiful and safe Georgian town known for its historic buildings and copious shops and cafes. With a vibrant population of nearly 21,000 people, its location in the East of England and practical transport links make it a popular commuter town for growing families.
