Leavers’ Destinations

Around 90% of our Sixth Form go on to university, including Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group universities, and to elite institutions worldwide.

Popular Pathways

In the past three years, Business-related courses remain the most popular destination for Stamford students, with many opting for degrees in Business Management, Economics, and Finance at institutions such as Newcastle, Durham, Northumbria and Nottingham Trent. Similarly, Law, Psychology, and Medicine attracts strong interest, with students heading to Cambridge, Cardiff, Leeds, and international options like the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Universidad Europea in Madrid.

STEM continues to thrive, with multiple students pursuing Engineering, Computer Science, and Biomedical Sciences, including at top-tier universities such as UCL, Durham, Bristol, and Nottingham. Architecture also stands out, with entries into highly competitive programmes at UCL, Newcastle, and Nottingham.

Unique and Standout Choices

What sets Stamford School apart is the breadth of individual interests pursued by our students:

  • One student takes up a Dentistry degree in Madrid, while another joins TU Delft in the Netherlands, a world leader in engineering and technology.
  • Creative arts remain strong, with courses such as Fashion Design at Glasgow School of Art, Songwriting at BIMM Music Institute, and Performance: Design and Practice at UAL all being undertaken recently.
  • Niche and emerging degrees such as Motorsport Engineering (Coventry), Cricket Management (Worcester), Equine Science and Business (RAC Cirencester), and Game Art (Nottingham Trent) demonstrate the variety of opportunities today’s Stamfordians are embracing.
  • A student heading to Sacred Heart University in the USA on a hockey scholarship and another with a rugby contract with Northampton Saints highlight the balance between academic and athletic excellence.

Stamford School is proud to support such a diverse and aspirational cohort of students. Whether they’re pursuing cutting-edge science, performing on global stages, or managing future sports teams, our leavers continue to exemplify the school’s ethos of ambition, curiosity, and creativity.
