Head of Netball: Alex Wood-Davis

Who Participates: Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form

Term(s) Offered: Spring Term

Netball is a vibrant and growing sport at Stamford School, promoting teamwork, skill, and resilience. Our inclusive and aspirational programme provides opportunities for all students to train, compete, and develop, regardless of experience. Sessions focus on technical development, decision-making, and game intelligence, with fixtures and festivals throughout the term.

Netball training is structured to support every level of play. From committed athletes pursuing county or franchise pathways to those participating for enjoyment, players are encouraged to challenge themselves and grow. With a strong sense of community and team spirit, netball at Stamford helps students build confidence and long-lasting friendships.

Recent highlights include:

  • U13 team crowned district champions in 2024
  • Regular pre-season training through Oundle League entries
  • Student-led officiating and coaching workshops
  • Expansion of house netball competition across Junior and Senior School
  • Full fixture lists across all year groups, including triangular and festival formats

Outstanding facilities include nine outdoor courts (four at St Paul’s, five at Wothorpe) and a refurbished indoor court for year-round access. Our growing partnership with Nottingham Forest Netball and connections with Stamford & Rutland Netball Club help support player development and open up exciting future opportunities.
