Make an enquiry

We know choosing a Sixth Form is a big decision, and we are here to help however we can. To make an initial enquiry, please email one of our admissions team, and we'd be happy to help you get started in your search.

Book a Visit

To get a real sense of what our schools are about, we highly recommend visiting us on an Open Day, Discovery Morning or Personal Tour.

Complete an application form

To apply for a place, we will require you to complete an application form and pay the £150 fee to confirm your application. Our registrars will then talk you through the assessment and interview process at Stamford Sixth Form.

Stamford Sixth Form Admissions Journey

Year 12 Assessment and Interview:

All students applying for a place at Stamford Sixth Form will complete an entrance assessment and take part in an informal interview:

  • The entrance assessment involves online CAT 4 tests in verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, quantitative and spatial reasoning (3D shapes and patterns).
  • No additional preparation/work is required to sit the CAT 4 tests as they are not curriculum-based.
  • The 1:1 informal interview is led by a member of our academic staff and is a chance for us to get to know each child in a relaxed environment to understand not only their academic ambitions but also to learn about their hobbies, interests, activities and what motivates them.
  • The informal interviews last around 15–20 minutes.

Offer of a place

The offer of a place at Stamford Sixth Form is based on the following criteria:

  • Acceptable GCSE Examination Results - Each subject has its own entry requirements, which are detailed in our Course Options Guide for Sixth Form.
  • Additionally, students will need a Grade 4 or above in both Maths and English Language to join the Stamford Sixth Form.
  • External Year 11 applicants sit an entrance assessment in the Autumn Term. Year 11 CAT Scores can be submitted, but final GCSE results will be a deciding factor.
  • Receipt of a satisfactory school reference.
  • A successful interview by the student with a member of the academic staff.
  • Receipt of the latest school reports at any stage of entry.

I’d like to express my deep gratitude for everything you and the team at Stamford Sixth Form have done to welcome Hugo so warmly. He came home totally buzzing on Friday and keen to support classmates playing a hockey match that evening. He’s spoken very well of his teachers and of his classmates – he’s really enjoyed throwing himself into the extra-curricular stuff too! He seems to already feel a real sense of pride in being part of the Stamford community. I appreciate that these things don’t happen without a lot of care and effort. Thank you!

Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed her overnight taster boarding experience at Byard boarding house and spoke very highly of her experience with the other girls.

We would like to thank you for organising a fantastic Open Day. It was a most informative visit with superb staff and pupil interactions and following our 1:1 personalised visit our daughter would very much like to join Stamford for her Sixth Form years.

Current Sixth Form Parent

We are truly grateful for the exceptional care and attention you have shown to our whole family. From the very beginning of this journey until now, when Ira has finally arrived safely at Stamford, you have been there for us every step of the way.
