Head of Swimming: Jamie Irvine
Who Participates: Nursery to Sixth Form
Term(s) Offered: All Year
Swimming is a key part of the Stamford School sporting journey, beginning in Nursery and continuing through to Sixth Form. Curriculum Swimming runs from Reception to Year 3, followed by Games options from Year 4 to Year 13 across all three terms. Students develop technique, stamina, and confidence in the water through a structured and inclusive programme.
Co-curricular Swimming starts in Year 4 and expands throughout the school, offering up to six sessions per week for Senior School swimmers. Our facilities support swimmers of all levels, with a four-lane 20m pool at the Junior School and a modern six-lane 25m pool at the Senior School’s St Paul’s site. This dual-site setup provides excellent access for skill development and competitive training year-round.
