Last night, the annual Old Stamfordian Club London Dinner was held at the Royal Air Force Club, Piccadilly. It was a pleasure to welcome Old Girls to this event for the first time, and we look forward to this becoming a growing tradition in the years ahead. The atmosphere was warm and lively, with wonderful dining and a spirited game of Heads or Tails in support of the Loving Cup.
The Loving Cup is a cherished part of the Club’s history, gifted to the London Old Stamfordian Club by the renowned artist and silversmith Nelson Ethelred Dawson. Hallmarked London, 1933, the cup bears the engraving beneath its base: “Nelson Dawson Me Inv et Fecit” meaning “designed and made by me, Nelson Dawson.”
We were also pleased to hear from Head Chris Seal, who expressed his delight at being part of such a vibrant community and his enthusiasm for deepening connections with Old Stamfordians in the years ahead.
Our thanks go to Tom Wallington (OS 07) for kindly sponsoring the event, enabling it to continue in such distinguished surroundings. Further appreciation goes to Ian Brassington (OS 73) and Neil Paterson (OS 85) for their organisation of the London Dinner event.
A wonderful evening was enjoyed by all, celebrating the unique bond that unites Old Stamfordians and welcoming many new faces. Attendees represented a wide span of years, from 1964 through to 2024, reflecting the enduring strength of the Old Stamfordian Community.
