Rev. Tommy Wright Memorial Match – Sunday 14 June
An Old Stamfordian team will take on Tolethorpe Park Cricket Club in the annual Rev. Tommy Wright Memorial Match at Tolethorpe.
The match honours the legacy of Rev. Tommy Wright, former Second Master and Head of Modern Languages at Stamford School, who also served as Rector of Little Casterton. A passionate supporter of cricket, Rev. Wright organised fixtures between Tolethorpe Cricket Club and a Stamford School XI from 1944 onwards. Following his passing in 1960, the annual memorial match was established, with teams competing for the Rev. Tommy Wright Cup, a tradition that continues today.
