Over 50 students have attended a webinar, hosted by the Stamford Schools, from multi award winning British Screenwriter and Executive Producer, Ed Whitmore, discussing the topic 'TV Drama - Writing and production: What is it and how can i get ahead?'This webinar forms part of the 'Beyond Stamford' series; a library of talks introducing students to the array of careers and opportunities available to them once they finish school.Ed drew on his extensive career experience to provide in-depth insights into the 'world behind the screen'. Having started his career as lead writer on the BBC drama 'Waking the Dead', Ed has also written and created for 'CSI', ITV drama 'Identity' and miniseries 'Rillington Place'. Most recently, Ed wrote and produced the gripping true crime drama series 'Manhunt', which became ITV's highest rated new drama and was watched by 9 million viewers.Commenting following his webinar, Ed said: "It was a pleasure to give this talk to students at the Stamford Endowed Schools; I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the questions were excellent! It's always a bit strange when you can't see your audience, but Mrs Herdale's relaxed professionalism put me at ease, and from a technical standpoint it all went impressively smoothly."Mrs E Herdale, Teacher of Economics and coordinator of the Beyond Stamford lecture, said: "We were delighted to welcome Ed, virtually, to Stamford for this Beyond Stamford session. We hope that this series of webinars opens students' eyes to the wealth of different pathways available for their future, and encourages them to find a path that really motivates and even inspires them."For more news considering the Stamford Schools Community, please click
