Student wins Philosophy Competition
A student at Stamford School has won first prize in a mini Philosophy writing competiton, winning a monetary prize and resources for the Schools.Alexander L, Year 11, entered his essay under the title 'there is no good reason to believe in God'.Hundreds of students from across the country entered the competition, organised by 'Candle Conferences' and lead by Dr Peter Vardy, British Theologian and Philosopher.Mrs N Odedra, Teacher of Philosophy and Ethics at Stamford, said: "I am immensely proud of Alexander's achievement in winning the competition. His mini essay was persuasive and an excellent read, including both analysis and evaluation."I am sure Alexander will enjoy his £200 prize money and the resources for the Philosophy Department will be warmly received!"For more news from the Stamford Schools, please click here.
