Stamford U14 Hockey Progress to National Plate Quarter Finals
Stamford School’s U14 hockey team have secured their place in the quarter finals of the Tier 1 National Plate following a determined 2–1 victory over Merchant Taylors’ School, Northwood at Wothorpe.
The quarter final proved to be a closely contested encounter, with both sides demonstrating strong organisation and intensity throughout the match. Stamford approached the fixture with focus and discipline, working hard across the pitch to maintain pressure and create attacking opportunities.
After taking the lead, Stamford continued to play with energy and purpose. Merchant Taylors’ responded to keep the contest finely balanced, but Stamford remained composed in key moments and showed resilience as the match entered its closing stages.
Strong defensive work and excellent teamwork allowed the side to hold their advantage and secure a well deserved victory in front of home support.
Reaching the semi finals of a national competition is a significant achievement and reflects the commitment, development and teamwork shown by the squad throughout the season.
