Stamford School’s Year 9–10 production of The Changing Room by Chris Bush marked a brilliant first night, offering an evening that highlighted the strength and ambition of drama within our creative curriculum. The play follows a group of teenagers full of excitement, impatience and uncertainty as they move towards adulthood, and the cast approached the material with clarity and assurance.
The performance showcased the students’ ability to handle an performance piece with pace, teamwork and thoughtful character work. Their delivery captured the shifting moods of the script and reflected the commitment they have brought to rehearsals throughout the term.
A particular strength of the production was the cohesion. Scenes moved with confidence and focus, and the cast maintained a consistent sense of energy that supported the rhythm of the play. Their work demonstrated the value of collaboration and the maturity with which our students approach performance.
The smooth running of the evening owed much to the dedication of staff who supported the production across direction, rehearsals and technical preparation. Their guidance ensured the piece was presented with clarity and professionalism on stage.
