Year 8 and 9 students recently returned from a highly successful ski trip to Pila, Italy, an experience that combined physical challenge, personal achievement and plenty of shared enjoyment. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Italian Alps, the trip offered students the opportunity to develop their skiing skills while spending valuable time together away from the classroom.
Over the course of the week, students made excellent progress on the slopes, supported by expert instruction and favourable conditions. Whether building confidence on beginner runs or refining technique at a more advanced level, pupils approached each day with enthusiasm and resilience. Time off the slopes was equally well spent, with evenings providing space to relax, reflect on the day and strengthen friendships.
The trip was characterised by a strong sense of camaraderie and good humour throughout. Students represented the school extremely well, showing maturity, consideration for others and a willingness to challenge themselves in a new environment. For many, it was an opportunity to step outside their comfort zone and take pride in what they achieved.
Our thanks go to the staff who accompanied the trip and ensured it ran smoothly from start to finish, as well as to the instructors and resort team in Pila for their excellent support. The ski trip remains a valued part of the school’s co-curricular programme, offering students a memorable and enriching experience that extends learning well beyond the school day.
