Stamford School’s U19 Netball squad continued their outstanding run of form in the Sisters in Sport Cup, securing a hard-earned 33–31 victory over Withington Girls’ School in Round 3 to advance to the quarter finals of the national competition. In a contest defined by intensity and fine margins, Stamford held their composure throughout, delivering a disciplined and resilient performance against a traditionally strong Manchester side.
The squad showed the same adaptability that underpinned last week’s flawless County Cup campaign. With several senior players still managing injuries and other commitments, the group adjusted seamlessly, maintaining structure and control in both transitional play and the shooting circle. Their ability to absorb pressure and dictate tempo at critical moments reflects the depth of Stamford’s pathway and the growing maturity within the senior squad.
Today’s result reinforces Stamford School’s status as a rising force not only in county and regional competition but also on the national stage. The Sisters in Sport Cup demands consistency, tactical clarity and a strong collective mindset, and this narrow but fully deserved win demonstrates that the U19s possess all three in abundance.
An impressive achievement and another performance worthy of the highest level of school netball, as the squad now look ahead to the quarter finals with confidence and purpose, and we wish them the best of luck.
