Stamford School’s U15 boys’ football team delivered a determined and mature performance on Tuesday afternoon, edging a closely fought ISBA Bowl national quarter-final with a 3–2 victory over St Benedict’s.
In a competitive and high-tempo encounter, Stamford showed resilience and composure throughout, responding well to pressure and managing key moments effectively. The match remained finely balanced, but Stamford’s willingness to work for one another and stay disciplined proved decisive as they saw out the result.
The game was characterised by intensity and momentum shifts, with both sides creating chances. Stamford’s organisation and commitment, particularly in the latter stages, allowed them to maintain control and capitalise when opportunities arose.
This latest result reflects the team’s continued development over the course of the season, with performances under pressure highlighting both tactical understanding and collective belief.
The victory secures Stamford a place in the ISBA Bowl national semi-final, where they will host Woodhouse Grove. The squad now looks ahead to the next stage of the competition with confidence and well-earned momentum.
Congratulations to the players and coaching staff on an impressive achievement at national level.
