Stamford School is delighted to celebrate the success of Year 13 student Saskia, who has received an offer to study Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, at Christ’s College.
Saskia’s interest in Natural Sciences is driven by intellectual curiosity and a commitment to academic depth beyond the syllabus. In preparing her application, she took a proactive and reflective approach to subject enrichment, completing online MOOCs, engaging widely with academic reading, and contributing to the school blog, where she explored scientific ideas in greater detail.
Throughout the application process, Saskia was supported by Ms Cox, Deputy Head (Academic), who drew on her own experience of studying Natural Sciences at Cambridge to provide informed guidance and perspective. Saskia reflected positively on the challenge of the application, describing it as an "adventure", noting that sustained independent study and critical engagement with scientific material helped her articulate her thinking clearly and confidently during interviews.
Securing an offer to study Natural Sciences, one of Cambridge’s most demanding and wide-ranging courses, is a significant achievement and a testament to Saskia’s academic discipline, curiosity, and thoughtful preparation.
