Stamford School is delighted to announce that Olly has successfully passed the highly competitive selection process for the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship and is now officially confirmed as an Arkwright Scholar.
The Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is widely regarded as one of the most respected scholarships of its kind in the UK, designed to identify and support the next generation of engineering leaders and innovators. This year, more than 4,000 students applied nationally, with fewer than 200 scholarships awarded.
The rigorous selection process involves several stages, including a demanding aptitude examination designed to assess problem solving, creativity and engineering understanding, followed by an in depth interview with industry and education professionals. Candidates are challenged to demonstrate not only academic strength, but also curiosity, resilience, innovation and a genuine passion for engineering and STEM subjects.
As part of the scholarship, Olly will soon be matched with an industry sponsor who will provide mentoring, support and opportunities to gain valuable insight into the world of engineering. These partnerships often open doors to national and international experiences, helping scholars develop their skills and explore future career pathways within the industry.
This outstanding achievement reflects Olly’s commitment, talent and enthusiasm for engineering, and everyone at Stamford School is incredibly proud of this success.
