Stamford School Shines Bright at the Midlands Independent Schools Gymnastics Championships

This weekend, it was a pleasure to host the Midlands Independent Schools Gymnastics Championships (MISGA) at our Stamford Junior School. MISGA is a 2 day weekend competition for girls, boys and mixed teams, and for both advanced and novice gymnasts.

On the first day, in the Under 7 category, both boys and girls showcased their prowess, with the boys clinching a well-deserved first place and the girls securing a commendable second place. Meanwhile, the Under 8 Girls and Under 10 Advanced Girls teams dazzled the audience with their flawless routines, earning them the coveted first-place positions. Individual champions emerged from the ranks, with Johnny, Poppy, Rehna, and Jasmine standing out as shining examples of skill and dedication.

On the second day, the Under 9 Advanced team made their debut in higher-level competition with an impressive second-place finish, while the Senior Boys and Under 11 Advanced Girls showcased their prowess to secure similar positions. The Senior Girls Team 2, demonstrating resilience and teamwork, claimed a well-deserved third place.

The Under 11 Novice, Under 13 Girls, and Senior Girls teams concluded the championships on a high note by clinching the title of MISGA Champions. Individual brilliance once again shone through, with Bailey, Ella, and Anna seizing gold medals in their respective categories.
