Stamford School is pleased to confirm the expansion of its existing private bus service with three brand new routes, offering more convenient travel options for students living in and around Huntingdon, Brampton, Alconbury, Peterborough and the surrounding villages.
The first new route, known as the Huntingdon Express (Route 9) will cater for students who live in and around Huntingdon. This route will provide a direct connection to Stamford School, starting at Brampton Hut Services and stopping just once at Peterborough Services on the A1 before arriving at Stamford School.
The second route will be known as the Barnack Village route (Route 10) and departs conveniently from Brotherhood Retail Park in Peterborough, calling at Werrington, Glinton, Northborough, Market Deeping, West Deeping, Helpston, Bainton, Barnack and Uffington.
The third new route caters specifically to students living in Peterborough (Route 4). This route picks up students directly on Oundle Road, with designated stops at Rivergate Shopping Centre, Peterborough Train Station, Thorpe Road (old hospital), Long Thorpe (opposite Police HQ), Bretton and then Peterborough Hospital before going straight to Stamford School sites. This comprehensive route offers flexibility for students residing in various parts of Peterborough.
All journeys stop at the same points on return from School at the end of the school day.
These new routes offer significant advantages for students and their families:
Introductory fares and special offers are also being offered to encourage new and existing Stamford School families to reduce single-family car journeys in a bid to lower traffic congestion and vehicle emissions in Stamford town:
Amy Lindley, Director of External Relations at Stamford School comments: “The introduction of these new private bus routes and special offers demonstrates Stamford School's commitment to providing a convenient, stress-free, and affordable travel experience for its students and families.”
