Stamford School Alumnus Named Para-swimming Emerging Athlete of the Year

Bruce Dee (OS 25), a recent leaver of Stamford School, has been named Para-swimming Emerging Athlete of the Yearby Aquatics GB, recognising his outstanding achievements and potential in British swimming.

Bruce represented Great Britain at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games while still a student at Stamford, an extraordinary accomplishment that reflects his focus, determination and composure both in and out of the pool. Competing against the world’s best, he showed the dedication and discipline that define him as both an athlete and a Stamfordian, finishing fourth in the Men's SM6 200m Individual Medley.

The Aquatics GB Awards honour excellence across swimming, diving, water polo and artistic swimming. Bruce’s national recognition highlights his growing reputation in para-swimming and a promising future ahead.

Balancing elite-level training with academic life, Bruce made full use of Stamford’s support for talented athletes striving for success in both sport and study. His achievement reflects the school’s values of resilience, ambition and self-belief, qualities seen across all Stamford pupils.

From representing Great Britain in Paris to this latest accolade, Bruce continues to inspire with his dedication, talent and humility – true Stamford spirit in action.
