The Stamford equestrian team delivered a series of exceptional performances at the Eventer Challenge County Qualifier, held at Epworth this weekend. Braving the long 80-mile drive and enduring the season’s first taste of winter – complete with heavy rain and dark skies – our talented riders showcased resilience, teamwork, and skill in a highly competitive field.
A special thanks go to the parents whose dedication makes participation in these events possible, as well as to Anna Cheney, our Team Manager, for her unwavering support and organization.
Stamford was represented by Ava L., Georgia S., and Emily S. (in the 80cm). Despite strong efforts, no placings were secured in these categories.
The 90cm proved to be a standout event for Stamford, with our riders securing team and individual victories:
This incredible achievement qualified the team for the championships at Hickstead.
Individual Achievements:
Our second team in the 90cm – Maisie H., Emily S., and Dotty A. (riding a second pony) – put in a commendable performance, but narrowly missed out on qualification.
The 100cm class saw two Stamford teams deliver outstanding performances, both securing qualification for Hickstead:
Individual Achievements:
Stamford riders continue to raise the bar, and their achievements at Epworth are a testament to their hard work and determination. We now look forward to seeing our riders compete at Hickstead, where they will represent Stamford on a national stage.
Congratulations to all our riders, and thank you to the parents, coaches, and supporters who make these successes possible. Stay tuned for more updates from our talented equestrian team!
