Stamford School’s First Team Rugby 7s delivered an outstanding performance to be crowned Uppingham 7s champions, finishing the tournament unbeaten against a strong field of schools.
Stamford began the competition with confident victories over Finborough and Denstone, demonstrating pace, skill and composure across the pitch. Strong defensive organisation combined with clinical attacking play allowed the team to build momentum as the tournament progressed.
Another impressive performance against Bedford secured Stamford’s place in the final, where they faced Bedford once again in a closely contested match. The boys produced another disciplined and controlled display, executing their game plan effectively to claim the title.
Throughout the day the squad showed excellent teamwork, decision making and resilience, qualities that proved decisive across a demanding tournament schedule.
With the Rosslyn Park National Schools 7s approaching, the victory at Uppingham provides a significant boost of confidence and highlights the strength of Stamford’s sevens programme.
Congratulations to the players and coaching staff on an excellent tournament victory.
