Stamford Announces Outstanding A Level Results for 2026

Students at Stamford School are celebrating an outstanding set of A Level and BTEC results today, Thursday 13 August 2026, with significant improvements year on year.

A total of 145 Year 13 students completed 457 A Level or equivalent qualifications this summer, reflecting Stamford’s continued commitment to academic ambition and excellent outcomes for its students.

Headline figures for 2026:

  • 13% of grades were A*
  • 44% of grades were A*/A
  • 74% of grades were A*–B
  • 91% of grades were A*–C
  • 7% increase at both A*/A and A*–B year on year

Individual successes include 34 students achieving three or more A*/A grades or equivalent, with 26 students achieving straight A*/A grades.

Several departments also recorded exceptional results, with 100% of students achieving A*–B grades in Chemistry, Design Technology, Drama, Further Mathematics and Music Technology.

Stamford students will now progress to an exciting and diverse range of post-18 destinations. Both students holding Oxbridge offers have secured their places, while Stamfordians will take up places at leading universities across the UK, studying subjects including Medicine and Surgery, Natural Sciences, Neuroscience, Aerospace Engineering, Chemistry, Political Economy and Wildlife Conservation.

The breadth of destinations reflects the range of futures Stamford students are pursuing. Alongside traditional university pathways, students are progressing into professional dance, visual effects and creative arts, as well as routes linked to agriculture, sport and other vocational opportunities.

At the heart of the Stamford Sixth Form experience is an environment where students and their families are known and valued, with individual guidance and careers support helping young people leave Stamford with the confidence to take their next steps.

Stamford Sixth Form offers 27 A Level subjects, four BTECs and one Cambridge Technical course, includingan expanding range of vocational opportunities, giving students the breadth and flexibility to pursue the pathway that is right for them.
