SHS partner with 'For The Love of Sewing' to provide scrubs for local healthcare workers
Staff at Stamford High School have been raising money towards '
For The Love of Sewing', a local organisation who have been sewing scrubs for local healthcare workers throughout the pandemic.Christmas face masks, which were all made by a team of volunteers at the 'For The Love of Sewing', were sold in the staff room at Stamford High School, with the final total reaching over £162 in just three days, before the end of term.Mrs. C Hawkins, Head of Sixth Form at SHS, said "[For The Love of Sewing] continues its amazing work of sewing much needed scrubs for local healthcare workers in hospitals and care homes, and the money we have raised will cover the cost of resources to make approximately 10 sets of scrubs. Thank you to all who donated!"This is not the first time the Stamford Schools' have partnered with 'For The Love of Sewing'. In April, Browne House donated their old bedding to the group who were then able to fashion some much needed scrubs for local healthcare workers (below).
