Old Stamfordian Josh Hull Returns to Lead Cricket Session with Students

Yesterday, Stamford School welcomed back Old Stamfordian and professional cricketer Josh Hull (OS 2022), who returned to school to lead a cricket session with students.

The afternoon focused on bowling, with Josh working closely with players to share technical tips and practical advice from his experience in the professional game. Students had the opportunity to work on key elements of fast bowling, including rhythm, accuracy and control, while gaining an insight into the standards required at the highest level.

Since leaving Stamford School in 2022, Josh has progressed quickly in professional cricket. A left-arm fast bowler, he plays for Leicestershire County Cricket Club and has been involved in the wider set-up of the England cricket team. Known for his pace and bounce, he has established himself as one of the most promising young bowlers in the county game.

The session concluded with a Q&A, where students asked questions about his pathway from school cricket to the professional game, training routines and the realities of playing at county level.

It was a valuable opportunity for students to learn directly from a recent Old Stamfordian who has successfully progressed into professional sport.

Stamford School would like to thank Josh for returning to support the cricket programme and for sharing his time and experience with our students.
