National Award for Alumni Relations & Fundraising Team

On Thursday 6 March 2025, the Alumni Relations & Fundraising Team here at Stamford School won the Donorfy award in the ‘Impact Beyond Fundraising’ category. This award celebrates the incredible achievements of charities using the Donorfy database to support and enhance their work. Our nomination showcased the Stamford Card, Stamford Lecture Series, and individual stewardship campaigns.

The biodegradable Stamford Card supports local businesses, incentivising our community members to support independent retailers, while the Lecture Series fosters free learning opportunities for all. With previous speakers including art critic Will Gompertz and British Winter Olympian Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards, the lectures are open to everyone and offer free access to a diverse range of speakers who inspire critical thinking and dialogue among attendees. While these lectures are free, we invite donations to support bursaries, ensuring that educational opportunities remain accessible to all and enriching our community.

Our next lecture will be on Wednesday 14 May with Poorna Bell, a journalist, author, and motivational speaker, known for her work in women's issues, mental health, and fitness.

The award recognises the exceptional dedication and innovative strategies at Stamford School, which go beyond the norm in maximising engagement and fundraising efforts. Competing against large and well-known charities, the team secured this award as a reflection of their hard work and positive impact.

The trophy is now proudly displayed in the Southfields hallway alongside other previous awards won by the wider External Relations Team. Additionally, we received a £250 donation to their bursary fund directly from Donorfy as a prize.

Natalie Pretsell, Head of Fundraising & Engagement, said,
"At Stamford School, we are proud to be making significant strides in sustainability and societal impact through various initiatives that extend beyond fundraising efforts. This award is a testament to our team's dedication and innovative approach in engaging our community and driving positive change. We are honoured to be recognised for our efforts and will continue to strive for excellence in all that we do."

Congratulations to the Alumni Relations & Fundraising Team for this well-deserved recognition!
