Jacob B, a Year 5 pupil at Stamford Junior School, has recorded new personal bests for both Freestyle and Butterfly, as the youngest swimmer in the Junior Performance squad at a Cambridgeshire swimming club.Jacob has been swimming since the age of 3, and is currently the youngest swimmer in the Junior Performance squad at City Peterborough Swimming Club (COPS), soon hoping to move up to the next squad.Jacob recently achieved a new personal best for both Freestyle and Butterfly; shaving 3 seconds off his October 50m freestyle PB (35.71s), compared to his more recent PB of 32.98s in May 2021, competing for COPS at the National Arena Junior Swimming League.Jacob has also competed in The Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) swimming gala for Stamford Junior School, where he swam butterfly, finishing in 8th place from over 100 students and qualifying him for the finals.Jacob is a 'very keen swimmer' and 'loves to compete', telling us: “In the future I will still be swimming for sure, I love how it makes me feel free, and there is no better feeling than competing!”For more news considering swimming at the Stamford Schools, please click
