Old Stamfordian George Coen (OS 21) has commissioned as an officer from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, marking the successful completion of one of the most demanding military training programmes in the world.
George took part in the Sovereign’s Parade, the formal culmination of 44 weeks of intensive training that transforms officer cadets from civilians into commissioned leaders of the British Army. The parade represents a defining moment in an officer’s career, recognising the resilience, discipline, and leadership required to complete the course.
This term’s parade was attended by HRH The Princess Royal, who represented the Sovereign in honouring the newly commissioned officers.
Following his commissioning, George is now based in Winchester, where he has begun his Young Officer course. Alongside his professional training, he is also representing the Senior Army rugby team, continuing his commitment to sport at the highest level.
Stamford School is proud to celebrate George’s achievement and congratulates him on this significant milestone as he begins his career as an Army officer.
