At Stamford, our Libraries sit at the heart of academic life, offering dynamic, resource-rich environments that support learning, independent thinking and a lifelong love of reading.

Our Senior and Sixth Form Libraries provide vibrant spaces where pupils develop research skills, intellectual curiosity, and academic independence, preparing students for success in exams, university, and beyond.

St Paul’s Library (Senior School)

St Paul’s Library is a vibrant hub for study and reading, offering resources to support every subject and a rich fiction collection to inspire a love of reading.

With dedicated areas for fiction and non-fiction, students can explore ideas, read for pleasure and develop independent study skills in a calm, welcoming space. Comfortable reading areas, quiet desks and printing facilities make it ideal for focused work.

Open throughout the day and after school, St Paul’s Library offers a peaceful place for study, reading and reflection.

St Martin’s Library (Sixth Form)

A dedicated academic space for Sixth Form students, supporting independent study and the transition to advanced learning. With a calm, scholarly atmosphere and resources tailored to A Level and BTEC subjects, it helps students build confidence and independence in their studies.

Students benefit from subject-specific resources, digital research tools and expert guidance for EPQ and coursework projects, as well as materials to support university preparation and wider reading.

St Martin’s Library provides a quiet, focused environment for research, study and reflection.

“Our Libraries are where so many journeys begin - into stories, ideas and independent learning. We aim to spark curiosity and nurture a love of reading to last a lifetime.”

James Kearney, Head Librarian

Expert Support

Our Libraries are managed by our Head Librarian, who works alongside teaching staff across the school. This close collaboration ensures pupils build strong skills in researching, evaluating and using information.

There are also opportunities for students to become Student Librarians, gaining hands-on experience and playing an active role in the Libraries.
