On Friday, Stamford School welcomed Eboni Usoro-Brown, President of England Netball and Commonwealth gold medallist, for a full day of coaching and talks with students.
The visit began with a coaching session for Year 9 students, where Eboni worked closely with players to develop movement, decision-making and communication on court. She later led a second session with Year 11, offering practical insight into the demands of elite-level netball.
At the centre of the day was a presentation open to all aspiring sportspeople, where Eboni reflected on her journey through the game, including England’s gold medal victory at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She spoke candidly about the realities of high-performance sport, the importance of resilience, and how to balance elite competition with life beyond sport.
Alongside her achievements on court, Eboni has built a successful career in law, and used her experience to highlight the value of pursuing dual career pathways and planning for the future.
The day concluded with a Q&A session, where students explored training methods, nutrition and goal setting, gaining a clearer understanding of what it takes to perform at the highest level.
It was a valuable opportunity for students to learn from one of the leading figures in English netball. Stamford School would like to thank Eboni for sharing her time, insight and experience with our students.
