Tree Planted in Commemoration of Waseda School Friendship
The Stamford Schools have recently planted a #SakuraProject tree in commemoration of the ongoing friendship with Waseda High School, Tokyo.The 'Sakura Project' is a celebration of friendship between UK and Japanese relations, using a Sakura Cherry Tree as a symbol. You can learn more about the project here.A rugby tour in 2017 to Japan established Stamford's connection with Waseda. Since then, Waseda's rugby tour have been to visit us and we have started a flourishing student programme. Nanako (photographed on the right), Year 12, is currently studying at Stamford on an exchange programme from Waseda - she has shared her experiences in a testimonial here.We look forward to a long-lasting friendship with Waseda High School, with this Sakura tree serving as a lasting representation.Read more from Stamford and Waseda here.
