'Theatre Thursdays' – Releasing “The Show Must Go On(line)” Performance Projects

Mrs C Hill, Head of Drama (Performance) introduces our latest showcase..."At the Stamford Schools, we are proud that, over the most challenging period for the Arts since the Second World War, we have continued to provide creative, cultural and collaborative opportunities for our students. At the beginning of the year, we launched our “The Show Must Go On(line)” programme, a series of virtual performance projects. Behind the scenes, over Microsoft Teams, and in bubbled rehearsal studios, the staff and students of the Drama Department have been busy devising, choreographing, rehearsing and filming an assortment of exciting works. We are delighted to announce our “Theatre Thursdays” month, a weekly release of these projects onto the Schools’ Stream platform. The culmination of many months of hard work will begin with the release of the Y7-13 Dance Showcase, “Peter Pan”, on Thursday 28 April (view here). This will be followed weekly by the Y7-9 Production, devised piece “Saturn Based Nova” (view here), the SHS Y10-11 Production, melodrama “The Marvellous Mellow Melodrama of the Marriage of the Mislaid Minor”(view here) , and the SS Y10-11 Production, murder mystery parody “Death on the Train” (view here).Keep a keen eye on the Schools’ and Drama Department’s social media accounts, and the weekly digest, for details of when the performances go live.We really hope you enjoy the shows, and we look forward to welcoming you back to live performances next year."The Arts
