Year one pupils at Stamford Junior School have transformed their classrooms into a West End Theatre, after their annual theatre trip was unfortunately cancelled. In the first week back after Autumn half term, Year one pupils would usually excitedly visit the Corn Exchange Theatre in Stamford to watch Scamp Theatre's productions of 'The Scarecrow's Wedding' and 'Stickman'.Sadly, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the children's visit had to be cancelled, but they didn't let this get in their way; instead transforming their classrooms into a theatre, complete with posters, tickets and even ice creams to watch the Julia Donaldson production, 'The Snail and the Whale'.Children took inspiration from the film, making their own snail sculptures, using natural materials; take a look at their creations in the video below.Well done to all the children involved - please enjoy their photo gallery below to see what they have been up to: After the pupils had collected their tickets from the 'box office' they were lead to their seats by torchlight for the performance.
