At Stamford School, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. It's about hands-on experiences, cultural immersion, and exploring the world around us. Our school trips are transformative experiences that enrich the lives of our students. Join us as we delve into our incredible half term school trips.
Year 11 Geography Iceland Trip:
The Year 11 Iceland trip is an invaluable opportunity for students to prepare for their forthcoming GCSE examinations. During this exciting journey, they explored Iceland's wonders, including the Bridge Between Continents, the Sólheimajökull glacier, the Gullfoss waterfall, and the city of Reykjavík. This trip left them with lasting memories and knowledge that will undoubtedly benefit them academically. (See photo above).
Sixth Form Geography Azores Trip:
The Azores, nestled in the Atlantic Ocean, provided a stunning backdrop for our Geographers. They immersed themselves in the natural beauty, visiting crater lakes, a pineapple plantation, thermal pools, and exploring a lava tunnel. This enriching experience significantly bolstered their A-Level Geography expertise, making the trip an unforgettable journey of learning and discovery.
Sixth Form Basketball & Rugby Portugal Tour:
During the half-term sports tour to Lisbon, the Stamford School Basketball and Rugby teams faced thrilling challenges, adapting to ever-changing weather from heavy rain to bright sun during a single match. Amidst the action, they explored Lisbon, visiting the Estádio da Luz, shopping, and even a game of beach football.
Year 9-13 Classics Trip To Greece:
The classics students brought their lessons to life by visiting the very places they'd studied - the Temple of Poseidon, Epidavros, Athens, and Delphi. This allowed them to vividly imagine the landscapes explored by the ancient Greeks, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of this rich history.
Year 8-9 Spanish Residential:
The Spanish residential offers students a unique opportunity to put their language skills to the test and experience the rich culture of Spain. This year, their journey led them to the vibrant South of Spain, where they explored Sevilla, indulged in delicious local tapas (including churros), visited a Spanish bullring, embarked on a ferry ride to Cádiz, and enjoyed a sun-soaked day at the beach.
Sixth Form History and Politics New York & Washington Trip:
The History and Politics trip is a dynamic blend of iconic landmarks and the very centres of political power, including The White House. In addition to this, students explored Central Park, marvelled at The Empire State Building, soaked in the culture of Chinatown, and admired the Statue of Liberty. This offers real-world context and perspective which can help their A-Level studies.
Stay tuned to find out more about the exciting journeys our students embark upon in the future.
