Eight swimmers went to the English Schools National Championships on 19 November, after qualifying back in October by placing in the top 20 out of hundreds of schools. Swimming against the top 30 schools in the country in the London Aquatics Centre in Olympic Park, our junior teams came 16th in the Freestyle and 17th in the Medley, with the Intermediate team coming 11th in the Medley relay, only missing out on the finals by one place!
The boys put in an extraordinary performance. They all went faster than they had while qualifying, with the junior boys smashing their entry time by over 5 seconds. They gave it their everything and represented Stamford on a huge National Stage in one of the most prestigious pools in the country. Well done to Jacob, Lleyton, Jake, George, Frank, Sina, Rufus and Joshua, as well as Director of Swimming Miss White.
