Success for Charlie in art competition

A Year 9 student at Stamford School has been successful in the international 'Rivers of the World' public art competition, where his work will be displayed in a banner at Nene Park and outside the Tate Modern in London.Charlie R created the design shown above, and has recently been to visit the exhibition at the Tate Modern to see his work on display. Pupils aged 11-18 were invited to submit their designs for a flag which must have been created using white, black and shades of one other colour, which was required to be inspired by the River Nene. Read more about the competition here.Twenty of the best entries were selected by artist Jeni Cairns who has combined them to create a design for the final flag, which will be displayed in front of the Tate Modern and along the River Nene from September to October 2020.
