Fifty Students from Years 7 and 8 at Stamford School have achieved certificates in the annual UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge.The challenge consists of a 60-minute multiple choice exam, encouraging students to use their mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency of mathematical technique to solve interesting problems.Each year the highest performers are awarded certificates, with the top-scoring 40% awarded either Bronze, Silver or Gold. This year, 17 Year 7 pupils and 33 Year 8 pupils receive certificates at Stamford.The very highest's performers are selected to participate in the follow-on round, the 'Junior Kangaroo', and this year seven students have been invited to take part from Stamford.Well done to all the students that took part.For more maths news from Stamford, please click
