A group of students and staff from the Stamford Schools have enjoyed a trip hiking in the Cairngorms. As a part of their Outdoor Education, a group of three students embarked on a cold and windy trip through the Cairngorms. On their first day they summited the mountains in 50 mph winds and completed a full circuit, covering Stob Coire an t-Sneachda then Cairn Lochan.Day two brought a skills day, practicing step cutting, Crampon techniques, ice axe arrests and building an emergency shelter.Students and staff walked into Coire an t-Sneachda and built a mini snow hole on their third day - as well as a few snow angels, before their final day's drive home through the snow and wind.Lead staff member on the trip, Mr E Smith, Director of Outdoor Education at SES, said: "All in all this was a great trip, and all of the students were excellent."[gallery size="medium" ids="https://www.stamfordschools.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/S0822356-scaled.jpg|,https://www.stamfordschools.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/S0672322-scaled.jpg|,https://www.stamfordschools.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/S0542299-scaled.jpg|,https://www.stamfordschools.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/S0432279-scaled.jpg|,https://www.stamfordschools.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/S0322260-scaled.jpg|,https://www.stamfordschools.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/S0192242-scaled.jpg|"]
