Student records song at Abbey Road Studios

Year 7 student Honey has been selected, along with 19 other forces children, to record the song 'Welcome Home' at Abbey Road Studios.Honey F has been selected, along with 19 other children, to record the song 'Welcome Home' at Abbey Road Studios, famously know as the producing home for The Beatles, Ed Sheeran, Adele and many other famous artists.Honey auditioned via video to 'Never Such Innocence', a charity helping children deal with conflict, which has been focusing on giving forces children a voice through music/poetry.Honey told us that she audition due to her 'love of singing', and that she is 'proud to be part of a forces family and it sounded like a great opportunity'.The choir enjoyed zoom rehearsals and a weekend in London before their performance. They rehearsed at The Guards Chapel then performed at Abbey Road. The aim is to make the song an anthem for all forces children. On Armed Forces Day, the choir were invited to perform 'Welcome Home' at The National Memorial Arboretum in front of HRH Princess Anne, where 100 forces families were treated and thanked for their service. HRH Princess Anne kindly took the time to chat with the choir after their performance before joining the families. For more news from the Music Department, please click here.why stamford banner
