Our recent school trip to Tallinn, Estonia, was an unforgettable experience filled with culture, history, and adventure. It was our first time visiting Estonia, and we explored a huge variety of activities showcasing Estonian, Russian, and Soviet heritage.
Highlights included walking through Tallinn's stunning Old Town, touring Soviet Tallinn, and visiting a statue graveyard where we came face to face with towering statues of Lenin and Stalin. We also explored Peter the Great's house and the Kadriorg Palace, enjoyed the festive Christmas markets, dined in fabulous authentic restaurants, and learned to make pelmeni in a fun workshop.
Our favourite parts of the trip were outdoor ice skating at night, making new friends at a Russian school, and exploring the KGB museum at the Viru Hotel. There, we learned how the KGB secretly infiltrated the hotel, hiding microphones to monitor visitors without their knowledge, and saw some of the devices they left behind.
Tallinn's beauty captivated us, and we can’t wait to return!
