Stamford School is pleased to announce the launch of its Pre-A-level language course within its International Study Centre at Stamford School.
Stamford’s bespoke study centre has been specifically designed for international students wishing to study an intensive language course in Stamford while making the most of the wider benefits of a Stamford education. The Pre-A-level course is designed specifically for international students aged between 15 and 16 who are looking to prepare to study British A-level subjects post-GCSE qualification.
Mark Steed, Interim Principal for Stamford School, comments: “Our Pre-A-level programme is based heavily on an English language course and is designed to enhance and build students' abilities in the language. This will support and strengthen our international students’ opportunities when applying for Sixth Form places and university places post-A-level completion.
“We hope that this programme is the first step towards a three-year educational journey at Stamford School. Upon successful completion of the Pre-A-level course, students can seamlessly transition into our Sixth Form and pursue a range of A-level and BTEC options”.
Stamford’s Pre-A-level programme offers comprehensive English language lessons delivered by experienced teaching staff as an additional language (EAL). In addition to the language-based course, students can study 4 or 5 GCSE subjects: Maths, Business Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Art. This provides students at the ISC with a balance of qualifications for whatever A-level courses they choose upon completion.
