Stamford School become Regional Champions at First Lego League

Stamford School’s Lego Club ‘robotics specialists’, four pupils from Years 7 to 9, won every round of the First Lego League regional qualifier, held in Corby earlier this month. The win allows them to now prepare for the national finals, held in Bristol at the end of February. The team, comprised of Louie R, Yaseen R, Isaac Sand Finlay H, entered their robot; which consistently performed in each task to gain maximum points. They were then asked to explain their programming and conceptualisation of the robot to a panel of engineers, answering questions about the design process they had followed. The final task saw the team present their solution to the prominent problem of ‘fatbergs’, solid masses in sewer systems, to the judges. After a full day of robot battles and presentations, the School emerged victorious, and were praised for their impressive teamwork, politeness, behaviour and robotic engineering throughout the day.Discussing tatics at the Lego League competitionPlanning lego leagueLet battle commence at Lego League competition
