Stamford School Announces GCSE Results for 2024

Students from Stamford School are celebrating their GCSE achievements today, Thursday 22 August, as examination results are announced nationally. Overall, 179 Year 11 students took GCSEs with results up, year on year. The average number of GCSEs sat by Stamford students was 9, with the average points score 6.1.

Headline figures for 2024:

  • 10% of grades in 2024 are a 9 (compared to 7% in 2023).
  • 25% of grades in 2024 are 9-8 (compared to 18% in 2023).
  • 45% of grades in 2024 are 9-7 (compared to 36% in 2023).
  • 65% of grades in 2024 are 9-6 (compared to 56% in 2023).
  • 82% of grades in 2024 are 9-5 (compared to 74% in 2023).

Deputy Head Academic, Chris Smith, comments: “We are delighted for this year’s GCSE students who have achieved some great results. The 2024 results are markedly up on last year which is testament to the hard work and effort of students, the excellent input and advice from our teaching colleagues, along with a huge amount of support from our Stamford parents.”
