Last week, Stamford Junior School marked its 50th anniversary with a fantastic week of celebrations, bringing together the entire school community to honour this special milestone.
The week began with our nursery and preschool pupils enjoying crown-making sessions, which filled the classrooms with excitement and creativity, we also had a visit by Old Stamfordian Antonia Scott (OS 90), who spoke to our Year 4 pupils, sharing her memories of Stamford Junior School, reflecting on how it has changed over the years.
Midweek, we commemorated the occasion by planting a tree and burying a time capsule, which included items used at Stamford Junior School now, including badges, ties and more – a lasting tribute to the school’s legacy and a gift for future generations.
The celebrations culminated on Friday with a lively tea party. Students, staff, parents, former pupils now in sixth form, and past staff members came together for an afternoon of fun and reflection. There were party games for everyone to enjoy, and a beautifully crafted 50th-anniversary cake added a festive touch to the occasion.
It was a truly memorable week, celebrating both the rich history of Stamford Junior School and the strong sense of community that makes our school so special.
