Stamford Endowed Schools’ Gymnasts adorned with medals!

The Stamford Endowed Schools’ gymnastic squad entered ten teams into the Midlands Independent Schools Gymnastics Championships (MISGA) and picked up a collection of accolades including three MIGSA championship titles. The event, which attracted students from independent schools from across the Midlands, was successfully hosted by Stamford Junior School.The event was a fantastic opportunity for novice gymnasts to gain competition experience, whilst competing alongside the advanced gymnasts.The Stamford Endowed Schools’ teams won a number of team and individual medals including a team gold in the U11 Advanced B team and a clean sweep in the Senior Advanced category for girls’ and boys’ teams. The team medals included U7 Novice – 3rd, U9A – 3rd, U9 Mixed – 3rd, U9 Advanced – 2nd, U11 Advanced B – 1st, U11 Advanced A – 3rd, Senior Advanced Girls B – 1st, Senior Advanced Girls A – 1st, Senior Advanced Boys – 1st.Individual medals went to, Aurora Murphy, Millie Gandy, Clemmie Utting-Curtis, Isabella Wienand, Olivia Portlock, Ella Briault, Esther Morse, Thomasina Boothman, India Barrasso, Ruby Ferguson, Evy Dickie-Meadows, Rachel Harte, Elysee Mordel and Harvey Morse.A special mention goes to Ivy Kettlewell, Daisy Fox and Daniel Smith who won their respective events and became MISGA champions. Daisy also had a magnificent performance on floor and was awarded a perfect ten score form the judge.Trudy Smith, Head of Gymnastics and teacher at the Stamford Endowed Schools as well as organiser of the recent MISGA Championships at Stamford Junior School commented: “We are thrilled with the performances of all our students and proud of their efforts.
