Book for our Discovery Morning

Discovery Mornings are a chance to explore the School on a normal working day.

You and your family will tour the School in the company of one of our pupils and will meet the senior team over tea and coffee.

Junior School (Reception – Year 6):
Wednesday 15 May 8.45am – 10am

Spaces at a Discovery Morning are limited so that you can have as much time as you need to see the School at your own pace and discuss your child as an individual.

SHS take on the Readathon

Over 160 students from Years 7 and 8 at SHS have taken part in a sponsored 'Readathon'  to raise money for the 'Read for Good' charity.Students were encouraged to challenge their reading ability and make their own decisions as to how many books to read and on which topics. Students chose fiction, non-fiction, audio books, magazines, cookery books and other literature of particular interest to them.Funds raised from the Readathon support the Read for Good charity, which provides brand new books and storytelling sessions to children in hospital care.Miss Stewart, Learning and Resource Centre Manager, said: “In previous years our Years 7 and 8 students have really enjoyed having an excuse to read in their spare time because of the Readathon. They have raised over £1000 each year for the Read for Good Charity and we are hoping to match or beat that total again this year.Reading benefits students on so many levels and being able to help raise money for charity at the same time is wonderful!”For more news from Stamford High School, please click here.why stamford banner
