On Monday 17
th May 2021 Stamford High School and Stamford School are holding a 'Rainbow Socks Day' to celebrate International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). The event has been organised by the Stamford Allies for Inclusion and Diversity (SAID) student committee. The schools are taking part to raise awareness of the human rights issues the LGBTQI+ community face around the world, as well as the prejudice and discrimination they may face in daily life.We encourage students to join in to show support for the LGBTQI+ community through the symbolic multi-coloured socks, taking inspiration from the rainbow pride flag. There will also be message boards in display areas in the schools where they can post supportive messages.Taking part in the event is entirely voluntary and free - students can wear rainbow stripe socks or multi-coloured socks. For more information on IDAHOBIT, please click
