SES Launch 'Beyond Stamford' Webinars

The Stamford Endowed Schools are excited to launch a new webinar series, 'Beyond Stamford' to help students broaden their knowledge of careers and opportunities after Sixth Form.Students from across the Schools were invited to attend these talks virtually as part of enhancing our careers provision.'Beyond Stamford' webinars allow students to hear from members of the Stamfordian Community talk about their different career paths with the aim of inspiring them to look beyond the standard careers, to broaden the horizons, and discover their interests. The Schools were delighted to have students attend online from years 7 through to 13, and we even had a student from year 5 join us for this first webinar.Mrs Herdale, Teacher of Economics and Head of SES Careers Events said: “It is so fantastic to see the Beyond Stamford series up and running - it’s all about helping our students find a future pathway where they can thrive.”Hosting the first webinar of the series was Old Stamfordian, Nigel Callaghan (OS 74), discussing what a career in computing could involve.Mrs Herdale further explains that "hearing Nigel demystify the different roles within computing – and the different skill sets needed for them, from web designers to artists, from programmers to testers, really brought home how huge and varied career options in this area are – it really is for everyone!”The next webinar of the series will be discussing entrepreneurship and we look forward to welcoming our students and parents to this event. For further information about the 'Beyond Stamford' series please contact community@ses.lincs.sch.uk If you would like to read more news on please click here
